how to earn good PR
AND
say something interesting
Here’s how two unlikely topics—population health management and baseball—earned these thought leaders buzz, credibility, and authority in a crowded niche.
THE ENVIRONMENT
heroes get remembered.
legends never die.
This healthtech company had population health management technology that worked.
So, why wasn’t the media covering them?
Healthcare’s “Moneyball” moment is one of my favorite PR campaigns.
In the mid-2010s, “population health management” was the “artificial intelligence”of healthcare buzzwords. Meaning: it was everywhere, and often meant nothing at all. While investors were enamored, many providers and media had headline fatigue. To many, “population health management” lacked substance and real-world results.
You can imagine how frustrating it felt for my population health client.
They were the “Babe Ruths” of the industry! Legends in the care management space, they’d spent nearly 20 years perfecting an analytics platform and business intelligence engine that actually worked for provider population health management.
They wanted to tell the world about their legendary work.
THE STORY
building thought leadership in healthcare
Meet Larry and Dr. Kudler, healthcare’s “moneyball duo.” The idea was Larry’s brainchild and Dr. Kudler’s signature work. I was the lucky PR pro that helped them build thought leadership and buzz around their success.
