This week’s writing project is in the land of patient experience. I’ve read reams of patient feedback (de-identified and redacted, of course). Friends, it’s so bleak. Most comments are like these:
“I don’t know what I’d owe because I’m homeless.”
“I can’t afford the medicine.”
“If I don’t get this medicine, I’ll be hospitalized. I’m running out, but can’t get an appointment until next month. I’m scared. No one seems to care.”
And then there are the quotes that added a little levity. Here are some of my favorites:
